Prepare Yourself Properly For A Cruise
by Elijah Bitson
So you got some time off, looked around, and decided you would like to take a cruise. This could be among the best vacations of your life; on the other hand, mess up with the packing and you could be stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean without any clothes for the next couple of weeks. So be wise. Plan ahead, and remember this list of things to bring on a cruise.
Before you pack, separate your belongings into two separate bags. This is true even if your spouse is coming along for that ride. Make sure you do this for each and every member of your party because, in the event the company misplaces your bags (an uncommon event, although not impossible), the remaining bag should be able to help you through the entire trip. So pack double.
Furthermore, remember to pack according to the weather. While ocean cruises are exposed to variable weather (meaning you should pack some warm clothing whether or not the forecast promises sunshine) cruises to, say, the Mediterranean needs to be packed for differently than cruises to Patagonia. The first vacation spot is warm; the latter is hot, so pack consequently.
One of the most important things to bring on a cruise is a jacket with a zipper, together with some long warm trousers - these will see you through both kinds of climates. Try and pack the clothes that suit you and make you look good, specifically if you are going on a singles cruise. Look good, and you'll feel great for the duration of your trip - and you'll feel like you got your money's worth for the whole ride.
This is a list of items which are crucial for a cruise trip - feel free to add to them if you think it is required! * Sun screen lotion, at least of SPF 15 * Passport. * Copies of the tickets * Chapstick with similar SPF as the sunscreen (or more) * A digital camera * Medicines, seasickness meds, particularly prescription medicines. * Swimsuit and cover-up * A minimum of two pairs of underwear (which includes some nice lingerie if you are planning to really make it an intimate vacation) * Credit card * One set of light clothing (shorts, T-shirt, etc.)
Remember, this is simply a small list of items. There might be many more things you may want to pack, so consider this list of things to carry on a cruise just as a guidebook to get you thinking!
