Experience Whale Watching And Have The Adventure Of A Lifetime
by Donald Smithe
Off the coast of Southern California, live the largest mammal of the world. They live under the sea, away from the prying eyes of humans. That does not stop the humans from having a desire to observe them, both on a personal level and also professionally. It seems the more we know about the whales through whale watching, the more we are able to assist them in surviving. These large animals live most of their life underwater, not seen by many people. If you are lucky enough to catch sight of a pod, or group, of whales as they pass by the coast, consider yourself fortunate, indeed.
If you had the opportunity to view these magnificent creatures up close and personal, surely might take advantage of that. Well, what luck, there are tours that in actuality take you down into the sea where you will catch a glimpse of the creatures. Normally, you would find yourself on the deck of a boat to view the whales, but this particular tour places you beneath the deck, with glass through which you view the surrounding sea life.
Being below deck, in an area that allows you to see the action under the water, is truly an experience you will never forget. You almost forget that you are human, as you become part of the world below. Though whales are typically known as "gentle giants", it is still not wise to jump off the boat into their domain. When you're on this tour, you don't have to get wet to feel like you're part of the action, and you can be sure that no underwater mishaps will take place.
This is not just a glass bottom boat. This bottom has glass on all sides, allowing you to see in every direction, not just down. If you've ever been on a glass bottom boat, you know that you're limited to the amount of action you're able to see. When you're below the deck on this boat, it is like being in your own little glass submarine.
You won't just have the adventure of a lifetime, you'll also get an education. The captain and the crew are there to teach, as well as lead the way into the great beyond and below. If and when the time ever comes where a dolphin or whale needs to be saved, these people are there to help.
A lot of people have seen whales and dolphins splashing through the waves at the surface, but not many are able to see them gliding through the water below. Along with being able to see everything that's going on under the waves, you're also allowed hear the animals communicating with one another. When you hear a whale singing for the very first time, it's likely to leave a remarkable impression.
If you want to experience feeling the water on your skin, and happen to suffer from seasickness, there are nets around the boat that you are allowed to make yourself comfortable in. This is a perfect way to eliminate some of the dizziness that may happen from the motion of the boat, and you will be really close to the action above the water.
Life on land is often hectic and chaotic. When you're out on the ocean and become part of a world that is relatively unexplored, you are sure to find a part of yourself that you may have never known existed. The peace, serenity and overwhelming beauty you'll enjoy while whale watching, will stay with you long after your feet are on dry ground.
