Repossessed Boats or Retail?
by Red Templeton
My core search tool is and will continue to be internet auction resources that aggregate and deliver bank repossessed boats, Government boat auctions, in addition to marine dealer liquidations to its visitors or members.
Regardless as to whether you're a DIY'er or simply looking to locate a discounted boat for sale, the following represent the best public boat auctions resources available online:
1. Boat Auctions Info -- First off first off-- it's free. Secondly, it lists most of the big hitter auction houses within the U.S.
2. Boat Auctions Direct -- This resource aggregates and categorizes basically nearly every boat auction source across the U.S. It is extremely thorough and also lists pwc's, rv's, atv's, and marine equipment auctions as well.
3. Nat'l Liquidators -- With several branch locations, this company is without a doubt the single largest auction house within the U.S. and continues to dominate the boat auction industry in southeast Florida. They will typically have 300-400 bank repossessed yachts at any given month.
4. Commonwealth Boat Brokers -- With two locations in Virginia, this outfit offers a wide variety of bank repossessions plus rv's and pwc's.
5. Gov Deals -- Don't pay to access Government auction sites when you can access most of their detained inventory here for free. Simply click the link "Boats and Marine Supplies" and you can view what's available .
I've subscribed to almost every paid or free member based auction site available online. And though many are beneficial, several are not functional for locating auctioned assets...above all boats.
Be suspect and wary of auction sites (mainly those sponsored Adwords sites) that gratuitously offer repo boat listings of vessels that don't exist or even sites that ask you to pay a monthly ongoing fee. A one time fee is usually well worth it.
