Inflatable Boats - The Ultimate Boat for Beginners

by Danny Matterson

A fun water activity that anyone can learn is boating. It's a unique experience since it allows you to enjoy nature in conditions where danger is only too real. It's a fact that water is highly volatile and extremely changeable that sailors, kayakers and canoeists, no matter their level of experience, know that fear is a perfectly natural companion in every trip.

While experience can teach valuable boating skills, it would be foolish to conclude that one can truly be an expert in boating. Seasoned boaters know that proficiency can only go so far. A healthy acknowledgement of Poseidon's territory is always in order since the waters can turn out to be their grave anytime. Sailors at heart know that only by learning the ropes, being prepared with the best equipment and using a reliable boat are the only ways to enhance your safety on the water.

New boaters must always be on the safest rigs possible. The chances of human error in responding to certain situations are tripled with beginners due to their lack of experience. As such, a boat that's strong but does not require any advanced sailing skill is most suited for every neophyte boater. Inflatable boats offer such.

In case you have haven't heard of inflatable boats before, they are vessels that can be deflated and put away when not in use. Unlike hard shells that require a carrier for transport, these inflatables have the advantage of portability. Some inflatable boats are so small that they can be stored in your luggage for your whitewater expeditions abroad.

Stability makes inflatables the best choice for beginners. Because of flat bases that have a low center of gravity, they are difficult to tip over. Buoyancy tubes on both sides of an inflatable enhance balance even more. As a result, neophyte boaters won't have to keep on worrying that they'll get thrown to the water for whatever reason and can thus concentrate on perfecting their skill and technique.

Another reason why inflatable boats are highly recommended for neophyte boating enthusiasts is that they can withstand bumps and waves better compared to hard shells. Where a hard shell would splinter or crack when it accidentally hits a jagged edge, the strong Hypalon or PVC fabric of these inflatables will simply bounce off of it. Unlike what is commonly believed, these rubber ducks don't puncture easily and are quite durable. This is further enhanced by different air chambers and double lock valves. In the event that one chamber experiences a tear, it can be repaired without affecting the other valves.

Affordability in terms of initial purchase and maintenance also make inflatables appropriate for beginners. It would be unwise to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a hard shell while you're still new to the sport. A high quality inflatable rig can only set you back a couple of thousand dollars with maintenance cost only for soap and water.

If you're looking for the best rig to use that's safe, durable and affordable then inflatable boats are definitely for you.
