Fishing fans of all levels are catered for in Egypt's fishing resorts. Whether you want to go on a week-long safari or just want to go fishing for the day, you'll be spoilt for choice. Hurghada used to be a small fishing village, now it's one of the Red Sea's primary fishing marinas, attracting many tourists due to its quality and quantity of fish.

Shore fishing is banned, however most charters you'll come across will use the technique of trolling to catch fish. Fishing boats tend to fish along the edges of reefs, to preserve as much of the underwater environment as possible.

There are 42 species of deep water fish and an amazing 120 species of fish that aren't found anywhere else in the world. Small wonder that keen fishermen come to the area on all inclusive Egypt holidays. The most common fish species here are barracudas, kingfish, yellow and blue fin tuna and snappers. The range of fish, which includes 44 different shark species, is due to the 1240 miles of coral reefs.

When embarking on a day's fishing during cheap Egypt holidays, make sure to pack some protective sun tan lotion, as well as a sun-shielding hat. You won't want to suffer from sun burn or sun stroke during or after your trip. Additionally, you'll need to pack a few layers, as the salty breezes offshore can prove chilly at times. During your trip, you'll be able to freshen up with toilet and shower facilities, which all fishing boats offer. Last but by no means least, make sure you pack a camera to record any exciting species of fish you come across.
