Five More Facts About P&O Cruises

by Lydia O'Sullivan

P&O cruises pride themselves on offering a quality service. This has helped put them at the top of the market in cruise holidays across the world. With a renowned reputation for being the best, you can expect to travel in style.

Today we want to take a closer look at some of the things you may not have been aware of when it comes to P&O cruises. Here are five interesting questions that have been asked when finding out more about the company.

1) What are you not allowed to take on board?

This is a question that a lot of individuals ask when they take P&O cruises. It's best to know what is not allowed beforehand. As with flying, there will be a number of objects that are not allowed on the boat. Objects from knifes, to helium balloons are especially frowned upon so it is best to check before travel to your departure terminal that you are not bringing aboard something that is banned.

2) How much does it cost to see a doctor?

In the event that someone in your party becomes ill during you voyage with P&O cruises, you will be charged a fee to see the on-board doctor. This is because it is considered private care. This fee will obviously vary depending on your level of treatment. We definitely recommend having travel insurance just in case, because the charges can be quite costly.

3) Can knitting needles be brought on the ship?

You might find this to be one of the most interesting questions, but there are a lot of elderly people who love P&O cruises. They also love to knit, and if you fall into this category you're allowed to bring knitting needles onboard. However, it's important to understand that these items must be situated within your main luggage. If they're in your hand luggage it could be a big no-no.

4) When is the deadline for complimentary car parking?

While some people believe you can do this the day your holiday begins, it's important to call ahead of time. You can actually request this early on, but most cruise departures will require you to call a number to book it. Then again; they might have you visit a website instead. Whatever the case may be you should take advantage of it as long as you're at least 35 days out.

5) What happens if you can't climb the steps on the coach?

If you're going to have trouble boarding any of the P&O cruises fleet it is important to notify them at least 6 months prior to departure. Since most people book their cruises well in advance, we recommend doing it immediately. In order to board the ship you will need to find a cruise that offers shore excursions. Then again; you can also arrange for a private car transfer as well. When asking for help, there will be a disability form that needs to be filled out.
